Open Archive :
It is a repository of contents, an outcome of scientific research and it is freely available on the net according to Open Access’s rules. It can be thematic or institutional.
It is the act when researchers themselves deposit their own documents in an Open Archive.
It is a bundle of rights wchich authors benefit on their original work.This latter is protected since its creation and even without being neither deposited nor registered. Copyright includes moral rights – paternity rights with respect to the work, disclosure rights, of withdrawal or regret – integrity rights – reproduction and performance rights and the right to authorize derivative works. Only these latter could be transferred to a third party by the author.
OAI Repository :
A database which supports the OAI-PMH protocol and is established by a data provider.It contains metadata that is available in various formats to meet different types of applications.
